Join New York-based duo Charlie Judkins on piano, and Miss Maybell (real name: Lauren Sansaricq) on vocals, washboard, and banjo, for an evening of early 20th-century jazz, ragtime, and blues! Celebrated for their residencies at Birdland Theater as well as popular New York venues such as the Flatiron Room, Chez Josephine, and St. Mazie, they have also built a respectable international following, having headlined Sevilla Swing in Seville, Spain and sold out a week of shows at Marian’s Jazz Room in Bern, Switzerland.

“Judkins is virtuosic in a style that’s very demanding on the skills of the pianist, shining throughout with styles from a blues-based boogie [to] more classic ragtime.”

—Penelope Thomas, BistroAward.com

“Miss Maybell plays banjo and taps her steel brushes on a tricked-out washboard. She also commands an impressive kazoo, but the secret weapon they unleash is Maybell’s vocals — deep and strong enough to join an angel choir with the likes of Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday.”

New Hampshire Magazine

“Her voice is rich, deep, questioning, cheery. She sings with her eyes. Every word careens into my blood.”

—Nicole Itkin, TheFrontRowCenter.com

“Judkins is a genius piano player … with a knack for entertaining the audience.… It is safe to say he will be in demand in ragtime circles for decades to come.”

—Joe Bebco, The Syncopated Times
